Bridging scientific innovation and compassionate care
I'm a different kind of guy
Executive Profile
Dr. Juan de los Reyes is a physician with an MD-MBA with experience in healthcare, medical education, clinical research, and program coordination. He seeks a holistic and compassionate approach towards patients that not only applies evidence-based modern medicine, but also addresses the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of the patient's life. Whether in independent clinical practice, academia, urgent care, or pharmaceutical presentations, he applies concepts in operational management to go above and beyond what is required. As a medical educator, he champions integrative learning and the utilization of new technologies for the purposes of innovating medical practice. Driven by a profound journey as a survivor of an intracranial chordoma, he aims to live life to the fullest and make the most of his one Juan life to live.
Physician
As a clinician, Juan uses situational analysis, operational management, and team dynamics to provide stabilizing care, facilitate conflict resolution, and coordinate emergency transport, all while maintaining a positive team dynamic.
- Has served as a volunteer urgent care physician, caring for patients presenting acutely with traumatic injuries, seizures, and unstable vitals.
- As a hemodialysis physician-on-duty, used an operational management approach to reconcile missing patient records as well as secure emergency transport options when ambulances were unavailable.
Medical Education
Juan has handled groups of medical students in laboratory activities, case-based discussions, and patient encounters. He encourages integrative learning, using prior lessons as a framework for new learnings, and uses Socratic strategies by asking thought-provoking questions for self-guided student learning.
- Co-developed the AI Applications submodule for preclinical students in their third year at Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health, collaborating with VedAI, an LLM-based platform whose underlying LLM was also designed by medical professionals, to augment the process of clinical decision-making.
- Was a supervisor in Damdamin 2024, a collaboration between the Rosita G. Leong Primary Care Hub and the Philippine Foundation for Equity in Health, where a cohort of 15 medical students from throughout Metro Manila immerse themselves in a rural community to observe how local doctors serve patients in defiance to health inequities that challenge an underserved population.
Research and Coordination
Juan has applied his MBA training in the realms of clinical research and pharmaceutical program coordination, employing systems thinking, information databases, and multidisciplinary collaboration to contribute to a growing body of medical knowledge, and communicate medical updates to a larger medical community.
- For Astrazeneca Pharmaceuticals Philippines, Inc., Juan served as Educational Science Event Program Coordinator, where he delivered slide decks to nephrologists and internal medicine residents throughout the Philippines. He employed failure-mode-effects-analysis techniques to troubleshoot logistic and software complications, and collaborated with nurses, pharmacologists, and specialists to deliver updates in management of CKD and congestive heart failure.
- Juan has worked on several projects for Ateneo Center for Research and Innovation (ACRI) over an eight-year period (2017–2025), using data analysis and operational analysis to contribute to multiple studies, with topics that included dynamics of physician training and deployment, healthcare financing, and biomarkers in autism spectrum disorder (ASD). As a volunteer, he also contributed to initiatives for the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare and the Text Retrieval Conference Clinical Trials Initiative.

One Juan Life To Live: A Chordoma Survivor's Perspective
At a young age of five, I was diagnosed with a midclival chordoma. And the doctor told my family that I would only have twelve months to live. But God showed my grandmother a vision of her standing before the Red Sea as it parted in two, and she was convinced that I wouldn't die but live to share of his love.
My family brought me to the United States for groundbreaking care—including two craniotomies at Johns Hopkins under Dr. Benjamin Carson and proton beam radiation therapy at the Harvard Cyclotron Laboratory under Dr. Norbert Liebsch of Massachusetts General Hospital. Taught early on about neuroplasticity, I actively participated in my own recovery by pushing to speak, read, and move, showing me firsthand that patients can be champions of their own health.
Nearly thirty post-therapy years, I am convinced that God saved my life both physically and spiritually, sending the right people my way to give me quality treatment and guide me to accepting Christ as my Savior. And by trusting in Him as the LORD of my life, I am adopted as a child of God.
Now, as a doctor, I am motivated to pay it forward and share this gift of life, hope, and freedom with other patients. With a heart of curiosity, faith, authenticity, and youth, I want to inspire everyone to make the most of their one Juan life to live. by ultimately trusting in Jesus Christ, who allows us to live life to the fullest.
